Baby Blocks

Baby Blocks by Petra Tschanter.
A small soft cover book from Barbara Fay, containing 24 pages, for the design on the front cover.
This book caught my attention immediately I saw it, and I am Not a patchworker.
It is written in German, but has very clear diagrams that I feel can be easily followed.

The Log Cabin design is made with 11 strips of lace, pieced together, all with different stitches. The book has clear directions (pictures) to follow to complete the blocks.

The stitches used in the given example have come from four books which are all listed for easy reference, if necessary. Interesting to see they are Spinnen Spinnen Spinnen, Torchon in Bewegung, Pointe de Lille Spitzen and Grunde mit Ssystem.

There are probably numerous other stitch combinations that could be incorporated in each section to give a different design and with the use of colour enhancing final results. As you could incorporate any stitch variation in to the log cabin blocks, I feel this is suitable for all mace makers from beginners to experienced lace makers. Using same pattern and different stitches there would be hundreds of different combinations and outcomes possible not just the ones the author has used.
I am pleased with this booklet.
