Torchon Lace Patterns 2 – taking things a stitch or two further.
By Elsa van Baaren, with Christie Wareham-Norfolk.
This soft A4 sized book has 56 pages filled with Torchon lace. Most patterns are edges with corners – so make hankie edges, and a couple of patterns are for scarves. Colour photography is used well, to make the lace even more enticing (if this is possible).
Elsa has come up with some wonderful names for her designs, which are all beautifully worked and displayed, and there are some new stitches that I have not heard of before (though I must admit that could be because I am more of a Beds lacemaker!).
Elsa has some wonderful design ideas, and her use of coloured threads in some patterns works wonderfully well.
Altogether, a marvellous pattern book, to compliment her Book 1, and another “Must Have” book to add to ones library.
