24 Snowflakes in Tatting

24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn.

This is a 32 page A5 book with, as the title states, 24 different Snowflakes in Tatting, first published in 2002.

In the Introduction, the author says that there is an annual lace fair in Denmark with a tradition of decorating a Christmas tree. In 2001, the Danish Tatting Association was asked to decorate the tree. The patterns evolved from that.

Some special tatting techniques (Lock stitch and false picot, adding glass beads, ring on ring, chain on chain, false chain) are described, explanation of symbols, and materials.

Each pattern (labelled The First Day of December, etc) shows a picture of the finished snowflake, diagram of the pattern and a brief explanation of how the snowflake is made (e.g. “made in 2 rounds or 2 shuttles if you tat with split rings”)

Other books in this series are Tatted handkerchiefs, Tatted butterflies, Tatted bookmarks (cross shaped), Tatted animals, Tatted Easter eggs, Tatted doilies.
