Anyone associated with Lace Gumnuts knew Noelene Lafferty. Her love of lace, people, and teaching people lace was second to none, and her collection (AKA stash) was also second to none! This stash is her legacy to the lacemakers of Australia.
Noelene got to see her son John have a super successful heart and kidney transplant, and got to see him back on his beloved pushbike.
Unfortunately she succumbed to the hardships associated with dialysis, and passed away on 6 August 2024.
John has spent the last 6 months, with the help of Lydia and Allyson, painstakingly documenting Noelene’s legacy stash and is now ready to share it with anyone that is interested.
You can continue Noelene’s legacy with what is left after the Market day, which is still quite a lot of books! We can send by delivery via Australia Post, pre-arranged pickup in Canberra at an agreed date, and possible pickup in/around St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney in late January when John goes up for his second annual review of his transplants.
